How to Find Your Purpose

There is an evident shift in collective awareness towards seeking a more centred and #purpose led life. We have already begun to see a breakaway from the conventional 9 to 5 job, through the natural evolution of wanting to be more self-sufficient, independent and ultimately...just happy doing what we love!

Woman Contemplating Life and Purpose

I’ve come to realise over my journey that there are two types of purpose. There is 'human' purpose (i.e. your day to day job, having a family, relationships etc), which is a vehicle for experience to take place and then there is ‘higher’ purpose, which is seeded deep within the soul and the ultimate driver in how we experience life on the surface.

This higher purpose I speak of will be no stranger to you and given its simplicity, it is often too easily discarded by the ego. This egoic questioning comes in the form of, “oh, I already know that", or by a misguided promise that something greater or more important is just around the corner.

Your purpose as a human is,

'to have experiences that assist with the expansion of consciousness both individually and collectively'

Your higher purpose as a spiritual being is,

'to return to a state of wholeness where awareness is so pure that only love can exist'.

Whilst it is impossible right now to prove the deeper reason for having a human experience, there remains one constant that suggests the best collective interpretation we can provide is what I have stated above, and that is;

Generally speaking, people want to experience a life of joy, happiness and love but yet remain conflicted by the internal chaos that prevents us from achieving such a state of peace'.

What if I told you it is possible to live a life where only joy and happiness existed, but the provision for such a life was that you must work towards this and the process would involve some suffering and pain, all of which might not actually have you achieving the ultimate state of peace in just one lifetime. But it was definitely possible, would you sign up for this? Well I believe you already have!

The ego will lie! I promise you that much. It can have you feeling supported, loved, cared for, hated, angry, guilty and depressed all within the same day (and sometimes all at the same time!).

It is important to note here, I have no ill feelings towards the ego for such emotional flux. The ultimate responsibility over the outcome of your experiences will always end up lying with you.

Believe In the Universe

I too believed there had to be something more, something bigger, something more fulfilling and more purposeful than just joy and happiness. However my choices and actions to disregard my higher purpose has only ever lead to more suffering (for the purpose of awakening further). This can be easily misinterpreted that I am suggesting you aren't able to achieve success or have big glowing dreams. But there could be nothing further from the truth. I am suggesting that you do dream big and aim for highest success possible, but do it in alignment with your higher purpose and as such the human experience will be far more joyful and abundant.

There is no right or wrong human purpose, whether a doctor, musician, mother, father, dancer, check-out attendant, spiritual teacher and so on, whatever it is you choose or are intuitively guided to do will always deliver the necessary experiences required for the soul to evolve.

At this stage of human evolution, I do not believe being a spiritual teacher or leader is your higher purpose. It may well be your day to day human purpose, but such a purpose does not dissolve you of your deeper spiritual purpose nor the fact that you chose to be a human and experience the emotional battles just like everyone else.

If you are destined to be a spiritual leader in whatever capacity, I would suggest this is more likely a result of the soul beginning to acknowledge and trust in its higher purpose, but remember, you can do both! 'You can have a human experience whilst living true to your higher purpose'

So why is it so important to balance yourself with both purposeful living and deeper purposeful knowing?

Freedom and Abundance, that’s why! The #freedom and #abundance I speak of doesn’t necessarily mean the freedom to do whatever you want or to have a full bank account, rather true freedom from chaotic egoic attachment and abundance from living a life knowing your intentions are soul led.

Despite knowing our higher purpose, there is no way to shortcut the emotional processes required to have a human experience, so embrace being a human, it really is a gift! You can however reduce the harshness of emotional trauma by staying true to your higher purpose, but a gentle reminder in the form of pain and suffering can never go astray.

Intuition

So how do I find my real human purpose? The answer is actually quite a simple one,

follow your intuition!

In other words, do what you feel is right. If there is anything to take away from what I have learnt over the years, it is that whatever you do, whatever the experience and however successful or unsuccessful you are, the soul will always use human purpose to understand your higher purpose.

Here are some signs that your human purpose is unbalanced with your higher purpose:

  • Consistently feeling #unmotivated?

  • Keep changing jobs and are still unsatisfied ?

  • Attracting, creating or involving yourself in the conflict of others?

  • Generally #unhappy with the direction you are heading?

  • Believe time is running out to be the person you dreamt of being?

  • Have given up trying new things?

  • Want to be someone or something so bad that nothing you do ever seems to work out?
